Violet Zuvela Primary Care IM Scholarship Award

Rini Kasinathan (MSTP entry 2013) was one of three UW senior medical students to win the “Violet Zuvela Primary Care Internal Medicine Scholarship,” proving that outstanding patient care and scientific acumen go hand-in-hand.  The Violet Zuvela Primary Care IM Scholarship award was created in 2017 by the generosity of the late Violet Zuvela, who was a patient of Dr. Douglas Paauw, director of Medicine Student Programs.

Rini first-authored a paper on the evolution of transcription factors that was just accepted to the prestigious journal, eLife, after undergoing open review through bioR_Ⲭiv and Review Common.
