How To Apply

2026-2027 Timeline

Step 1:

Submit your AMCAS application designating University of Washington MD/PhD.  We review applications as they come in, so we encourage applicants to submit their application materials well in advance of the final deadlines.

Deadline: October 1

Step 2:

The directors are reading applications for competitiveness. Please watch for an invitation to complete our secondary application.

Step 3:

Watch for an email from mstp@uw.edu inviting you to complete our secondary application.

Your application will be considered complete when we have received:

  • Your AMCAS Application
  • UW MSTP Secondary Application
  • Application fee of $35
  • Letters of recommendation from at least 3 faculty/research mentors submitted through AMCAS
  • If non US Citizen, proof of permanent residency status.

Deadline: December 15  for completed secondary applications. All application materials/fees must be received in the MSTP office by end of business day.

Step 4:

We typically begin issuing interview invitations on a rolling basis beginning in mid-August.
