New Papers in Nature Machine Intelligence

Alex DeGrave (MSTP entry 2018) and Joe Janizek (MSTP entry 2016), first- and third-year graduate students working with Dr. Su-In Lee in the Department of Computer Science & Engineering, respectively, are first- and second-authors on a new paper in Nature Machine Intelligence showing that artificial intelligence can sometimes cheat when reading chest X-rays and cannot be relied upon for COVID-19 diagnosis.
Joe has a second paper with Gabe Erion (MSTP entry 2015) in the same journal showing how artificial intelligence can be made more accurate.
