Dr. Umut Ulge graduated from the UW MSTP in 2011 with a PhD in protein design from David Baker’s and Ray Monnat’s labs, and completed residency in internal medicine at Indiana University. He returned to UW in 2014 to explore the medical applications of protein design technologies. In 2018, he co-founded Neoleukin Therapeutics Incorporated, which is now a publicly traded company that is developing de novo designed proteins as therapeutics for cancer and autoimmune disease.
Dr. Ulge will speak about his experience founding a company from research performed at UW, and share insights about career pathways to industry.
