Regenerative Strategies for Retinal Injury

Brennan studies mechanisms of vision loss in retinopathy of prematurity and explores strategies for retinal regeneration. His work tests whether reactivating developmental transcription factors can restore lost retinal neurons and visual function. The project integrates genetic tools, disease modeling, and functional assays. This work examines whether regenerative programs can be re-engaged after early-life injury.
