MSTP students, Hank Cheng and Miguel Paredes, PhD make Husky 100 list!

Two MSTP students have been named on the Husky 100 list, recognizing their leadership, service, and impact at the University of Washington.

Hank Cheng, shaped by his experience growing up in a low income immigrant family, has devoted his time at UW to supporting others through free tutoring programs, patient centered volunteer work, and medical genetics research aimed at improving access to rare disease diagnosis.

Miguel Paredes has focused his PhD research on understanding how viruses such as mpox and SARS‑CoV‑2 spread within marginalized communities, highlighting the importance of community informed and community centered approaches to both research and clinical care.

Together, these students exemplify the mission of the MSTP program: training future physician scientists committed to addressing the biological and social drivers of health inequities.
